Empowering Bajau Laut Weavers in Sabah
Through crucial funding for new, improved looms and comprehensive training workshops in design and marketing, over 50 women weavers from the Bajau Laut community in rural Sabah have significantly enhanced their craft. They have reported an average increase in their household income by over 40%, allowing them to better support their families, invest in their children's education, and preserve their unique traditional weaving techniques while building sustainable, dignified futures. One weaver, Puan Aminah, shared, "These new skills have given us hope and a voice in our community."
